Nowadays, students are prefer to study abroad than study in their own country. This

phenomenon can happen because of technology or the internet, the internet allows them to access more information about studying abroad or maybe they can see people on social media sharing about their experiences studying abroad. Students in Indonesia can have more motivation from social media.

Talking about the advantages of studying abroad, student can have other perspective or wider point of view to see the world. For example they can see how each country makes regulations and reflecting what can happen in Indonesia if the regulations are implemented. They also can get a deeper understanding about their specialty. Another advantage is they can introduce Indonesia’s culture to another country. Usually each country have their Indonesia’s Students Organization, one of their activity is introducing Indonesia’s culture.

The study abroad phenomenon not only give advantages to Indonesia but also gives the advantages one. Many people who study abroad are continuing live abroad, they don’t want to go back to Indonesia. Most of them feel not appreciated in Indonesia. For Example, being a researcher or lecturer in Indonesia still doesn’t have a good salary. Losing study abroad students can be a disadvantages for Indonesia because we are losing educated people who are expected to build a better Indonesia. The study abroad phenomenon is good for Indonesia if they want to back to Indonesia and contribute to build Indonesia to be a better country. The government must influence and increase their love for the country. The government also have a task for appreciate their values so they want to go back to Indonesia
