Nowadays, It is easier to interact and share our cultures to people around the world because of modernization and globalization. Some people consider this situation as positive improvement which can lead to richer diversity, whilst other find it as a threat for their own culture. This essay will discuss this issue with both positive and negative impact.
Firstly, one of the most noticable advantage from globalization, is how fast an informations can be delivered. Social media is one of the example of modernization. In the recent studies almost 80% of world population have social media. Since users are located worldwide, this makes information more accessible to a wider audience. As a result we can find every information we need just by clicking one button, we can explore different culture without step foot in the actual place.
Despite of the positive impacts, this also have their downside. Because of how widely information can spread, people will be inspired to try things from other culture, one easiest example is about wedding culture. In Indonesia, wedding ceremony usually contains many tradition. But these day, not a little couple decided to skip the tradition and just do the main event because it is more simple and cost less. This action is not completely wrong, but if this happen very often, our culture will slowly disappear.
To sum up, I admit that globalization indeed, created richer diversity in the world. It is understandable if we feel impressed and interested by another culture, but we also should be proud and respect our own tradition by preserving to prevent our culture from vanishing.
