It is frequently argued that goverment’s money spent in music and theatre was wasted moneys and they must allocated the money for public interest. In my perspective, i competely disagree with this opinion and believe goverment invesment in arts is needed.
Arts is the wealth of the nation, to improve it they need support from the government. Money that allocated in this field can fasillitated the artist to make a new projects and this works can be something to proud of for the country. A real example can be seen from South Korea, the government was very supportive in arts such as music and theater. The artist was very helped from the government invesment. As a result, now South Korea is in the spotlight and has gone global because of their arts.
Besides that, the invesment is helping the poor people who have a good skills in singing or acting to become an artist. The goverment should see there a many potential in their citizens, but it might obstructed by a bad economy condition. In this case, we can see from Indonesia that allocated their money to LPDP Scholarship. This scholarship was focused to Indonesian citizens with a poor conditions, to had an appropriate education either in internal or external of the country. It was included scholarship in art schools that might help for some people that have interest in this area.
The government investment in arts is needed to improve the wealth of the nation and to help the poor people who have an interest in this field.
