Some would argue that it is correct for governments to finance artists, while others believe that this money should be used on other projects. While artists often need financial assistance at the start of their careers, I believe that government spending on health should be prioritised.
On the one hand, young artists usually need funding in their early age of career. Without governments support, it’s impossible for them to get started with their business in music, painting, sculpture, and video areas. For example, some Chinese students after graduated from Shanghai Arts University received financial help from government established new creative arts company for IT industry, and their company grow rapidly and bring many job opportunities to others. However, I believed that the government should spend more money in health care, because is more important for ordinary people.
On the other hand, some people think health care should the first priority to receive funding from government, since the states operate so many hospitals requires huge fund, and health service in a country related with everyone’s benefits. For instances, due to lack of fund to pay doctors, some cancer or diabetes patient waited for 6 months to have an operation, and a few patience even lost lives during wait. I believed that health care is much important than artists, because it saves lives, while arts works is only for enjoy.
In conclusion, although many people think the artists should receive financial help from states in the early of their careers, I believe that health care is more significant, the government should spend more money in this area because it saves people’s lives.
