Band 7+: Governments give a lot of support to artists, even though some people think it is a waste of money that could have been used elsewhere.

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Some would argue that nations provide significant economic aid to artists because the arts are a valuable profession. On the other hand, some believe that financial resources could be better allocated to support the resettlement of refugees. However, I believe that governments should also support artists.

Many people advocate for government support for singers and painters, viewing the arts as one of the greatest professions in the world. Artists are innovative and often invest a great deal of time in studying ancient arts and music, which allows them to either preserve existing art forms or create new ones. Due to the dedication required to produce new art, many artists cannot pursue such endeavors as a part-time job. Additionally, large projects typically require considerable expenses for production and exhibition. I support the idea that governments should provide financial assistance to artists to sustain the arts, recognizing the extensive time and effort they commit. For example, a man in Tibet spent 12 years completing a large mural on the wall of a monastery.

Conversely, some individuals believe that spending money on artists is unjustified. They argue that such funds could be better invested in more critical areas, such as helping refugees improve their living standards. This support could provide better education and healthcare for those who lack access. Nonetheless, I continue to believe that artists deserve financial assistance as well. For instance, people fleeing to other countries often require economic aid to help them resettle in their new environments.

In conclusion, the profession of art needs government support to thrive and sustain itself. The perspective that funding for artists is an unnecessary expense is not accurate.
