Artists gain a lot of help from the states, some argue that it is a waste of resource and those money can be used in other valuable uses. While, this support from the government to the talented people can be utilized in other areas, i believe that it is better to be spent on artists because of their extraordinary skills that improves the economy.
On the one hand, governments spend millions of dollars on artists every year. It is believed by many people that this investment on such individuals is a wasteful expenditure. States can allocate this money on other more important sectors such as helping the environment or providing shelters to homeless people. For example, in some south Asian countries the officials spend the least amount of money on artists, instead they are allocated to poor people in order to support them. However, i believe that governments should provide assistance to the talented people because of the benefit it brings to the countries economy.
On the other hand, talented people like musicians, painters, singers and actors should get the needed support from the government because this can nurture the economy. Investing in such skilled people can increase tourism overall. Artists attract tourism, people from all over the world will visit the country just to attend concerts and exhibitions. For instance, in United States there has been an increase in the number of visitors and it is reported that many tourists had only visited because there was a concert held by a famous singer named Taylor Swift. I believe governments allocating expenditure on artists is beneficial for the nations well-fare.
In conclusion, although not supporting the creative minds to better use it in other fields, it is better for the economy to support individuals that acquire certain talent.
