A large part of countries income is spent on redeveloping historical buildings. Few people think that this modernization in large cities is substituting other developments. This essay discusses both the statements.
Old buildings or monuments hold an important place in the history of the country. With the advent of environment pollution, some parts of the building start to corrode and with time get collapsed. If not taken care, leads to massive destruction. Renovating them not only restores the ancient structure, but also serves as a source of income to the country. One such example is The Agra Fort, with change of environment the white marble is starting to turn yellow. The state government of Agra took standardized measures and renovated the fort which is still in progress. In doing so, the fort attracted huge number of tourists across the globe.
Although restoring old monuments protects our history, other municipality problems always outweigh the positives. If all the money is spent on renovation, there will be nothing left to look after flaws in infrastructure of the city. Big and developed cities not only provide good services but also are home to many problems. For instance, due to heavy rains, the drainage system gets clogged and the roads get destructed. Repairing them is the cities utmost priority in order to avoid accidents. Moreover, building new houses creates more employment and income.
Thus, finances for the same are needed. The state needs to wisely use its money in developing roads and developing new houses to mitigate problems.
