It is argued that people should pay for medical treatment because their health are their own responsibility. This essay disagrees that health care should be a paid service. Firstly, there are many diseases that requires special and expensive treatment that could not be available for all people; secondly, individuals will only count on themselves rather on expensive, but reliable health care.
There are lot of dangerous illnesses that occurs independently of person’s activity. The medical treatment for cancer or inherit diseases demands a tremendous amount of money and continous monitoring for health situation, that also costs a lot of resources. In some countries, like Germany or Japan, reliable and effective health care is available for all civilians, regardless of the sickness and the expense for the treatment.
If the payment for the health care occurs, people will avoid to recieve the service, in spite of the difficulty of their situation. The treatment that will be provided from government could be faced as excessive practice, and individuals will rely only on traditional methods or self-treatment. For example, person with unstable financal situation after the appearence of new source of expenses, will deal not with only other difficulties with money, but with health and his situation may be progressively worse.
In conclussion, the health care should be free for all people because in other case this will lead to inability to recieve the particular medical treatment and unreliance on that paid service.
