Pregnant ladies are given maternity time off when they gave birth to a new baby, in various nations. It is a common type of leave that evey organization allows to women as they undergo a surgery. In this essay, I will express the merits and demerits of the leave after childbirth and state my opinion in the conclusion.
On the one hand, the main benefit is that mothers can takecare the baby very well at least the first month. Intensive care and love is more critical for a new born since they are very sensitive. For instance, breast milk is the only meal they can take for the first two, three month. Therefore, that leave is neccessary for a mother to give the warm and attention her baby need. Moreover, a woman requires some times to recover from a surgery ensuring her normal helath condition.
On the other hand, there are several drawbacks of maternity leave. Firstly, It will be very challenging to her get back on the daily working life after a long time off. As example, she may forget the basic things about her work, rules and regulation of the work place and sometimes new updates could have been applied to the system. Secondly, Workload of another worker of her company could increase due to her time off. That would be emberassing to other people with addtional work which they have to do.
In conclusion, Organizations provide essential leaves for women after their childbirth, in numerous countries. There are advantages like good caring of the baby, healty recovery of the mother while disadvantages could be problems in the working place. In my view, despite the drawbacks arising from the time off, mothers gain more benefits from the maternity leave.
