Nowadays, it is argued that both partners in a family should be responsible for the family’s income. I completely agree with this statement as it gives the family more financial freedom and additionally equal opportunities for family members to develop.
Every country and their citizens suffer from a persistent inflation cycle that makes living conditions more and more expensive each year. Thus families need a strong income pedestal to rely on. In many countries, average salary is much lower than the amount that is needed to buy groceries and pay monthly rents. Moreover, if family decides to have children, their expenses dilate as children require special foods and diapers. Therefore both family members should be responsible for monthly income. For example, moderate salary of one person is not enough for the whole family in third world countries.
Additionally, humans are social entities. They need social environment in order to grow, develop and progress as a perfect person. People socialize at school and university when they are young. As humans age, their social circle gets more and more thinner. Therefore they need a workplace sphere where they can still make new contacts and acquaintances. This may also acknowledge the partners about the difficulties of work environment and strengthen their bonds. Not having a social circle detriments human’s brain. For example, most of the psychological problems come from feeling of discrimination and unwantedness.
In conclusion, it may seem unimportant for both family partners to have a job, it makes life and its conditions much easier for both sides. Not only that, it also affects overall mental health of spouses positively.
