Nowadays, it is becoming popular among people to give money as a gift in special celebrations, including birthday parties, wedding ceremonies, and many others. Although this trend can be attributed to a lack of time and difficulties in choosing presents, I believe that it’s a positive development due to several benefits that contribute to financial stability and personal preferences among people.
There are several reasons why people are prone to give money instead of a present. One of them is a lack of time. Today, individuals are extremely busy with their personal life involving work, studies, and families that takes up much time. That is why when they are invited to special occasions, they prefer to give a particular amount of money in order to economize their time. Another key reason for this is related to challenges on choosing gifts. Many gift-givers struggle with how to make a correct choice between gifts because of their unawareness about gift-holders’ preferences. As a result, they search easy ways of choosing gifts, like giving money instead of presents.
From my perspectives, I see more benefits behind this trend. One of the greatest benefits of giving money as a gift is that it enhances gift-holders’ financial state by giving them a chance to cover their necessities. Alternatively, when they receive a souvenir or some kind of item, they won’t have such an opportunity. Additionally, money gives people freedom of choice based on their preferences. People often choose something unnecessary that contributes to waste and doesn’t suit the gift-holders’ tastes. That’s why giving money would be beneficial for both gift-givers and gift-holders.
In conclusion, the main reasons of this trend can be caused by difficulties in managing the time and choosing a gift, I do believe that it has several positives in people’s lives that are mentioned above.
