In recent times, many people have argued that governments have become less strict regarding certain rules and regulations, allowing people greater freedom. However, I strongly disagree with this view because strict laws are essential for public safety. The following paragraphs will explain the reasons behind this opinion.
Many policymakers organize different types of awareness campaigns to improve public safety. These campaigns educate people about safety measures and the proper use of equipment. Moreover, many institutions provide safety training in schools, colleges, and workplaces. For example, educational institutions often provide students with training related to fire evacuation and self-protection techniques. As a result, people become more aware of safety regulations and protective measures.
On the other hand, governments should not allow people excessive freedom regarding rules and regulations because some individuals may misuse them. One major reason is that many people do not strictly follow traffic laws. If people ignore traffic regulations, there may be higher chances of accidents and deaths. For instance, many car drivers do not wear seat belts, and many motorcycle riders do not wear helmets. Consequently, roads become dangerous for citizens.
Another reason is the increase in traffic-related problems in urban areas. Many people in cities do not properly follow transportation rules, which leads to overcrowded roads during working hours. As a result, many individuals become frustrated and mentally exhausted because of heavy traffic congestion. For example, overcrowded roads near many residential areas create numerous difficulties for commuters and workers.
In conclusion, governments should enforce strict rules regarding public safety because people face many challenges and risks in their everyday lives. Therefore, strong regulations are necessary for safer societies and more organized public systems.
