There seems to be a hot potato regarding which teenagers has been purchasing more and more second-hand products in this modern society. Presumably, there could be hidden factors such as affordable prices and fashion archive no matter if it affects positively or negatively. Now, I will suggest factors and my own stand point in order to arrive at the conclusion.
First and foremost, cheap second-hand clothes make young generation purchase them. Indeed, buying from thrift shops provides teenagers the opportunity to maintain their budget in a good-term. As well as this, archive fashion has taken place among young generation. This particular fashion consists of variety types of fashion but the main factor why it has been becoming famous is because of its vintage and dynamic clothes from the past. Hence, it allows people to express oneself through wearing niche and unique combination of clothes. According to the recent survey, 67% of teenagers, ranging from 12 to 17 years old, commenced to prefer second-hand clothes due to its special attributes and affordable prices. If purchasing used clothes had cost an arm and a leg and didn’t have attractive features , young teenagers would have bought luxurious high-end clothes in the first place. It is all i have suggested before putting forward my aspect.
When it comes to voicing my own notion, the more second-hand goods we purchase, the better our environment will be. In which meant, manufactures wouldn’t have to produce new products which might decrease the tons of wastes being released into the earth. Thus, sustaining the nature would be easier for the community but companies could suffer from insufficent number of consumers. As a result of this, the global market and companies might be forced to shut down or go bankrupt. To cite Mongolia as an example, far more people have been buying thrift clothes than they used to do in the past. In which meant, they witnessed a decrease in wastes. However, the local companies such as Gobi has struggled to earn profit because of teenagers purchasing second-hand products. Having seen this status-quo, it could be a disaster for companies even though the enviroment could benefit from it.
Taking everything above into the last but not least conclusion, the consumption of second-hand goods might support the habitat, whereas it could also impact the market by ruining their income sources. Based on this paradigm, I suggest that balancing the purchase of second-hand clothes by teenagers could be the best choice for both sides giving businesses the chance to cope with it.
