It is true that stepping onto the moon surface for the very first time in human history was a magnificent phenomenon. I agree with this idea to some extent, but I do not think that it has made big changes to man’s life.
I do believe that when man could first walked on the moon, some changes happened in human’s perception of future life. Firstly, this journey exceeded the limitations and borders mankind once set for himself and broadened the spectrum of hopes towards the future of human life. Secondly, we started to see the bigger picture. If one day we lose our earth, we can hope to seek peace and life on another planet, the moon, the new hope. Finally, it paved the way for other astronauts to do more research on the planet . To set an example, some years after man had travelled to the moon for the first time, another spaceman attempted to plant seedsf in pursue of life traces in the moon.
However, when it comes to practice, no big change has really happened . We still need years of research and experimentation to bring this dream to reality. There is no oxygen and life on the moon and in practice not a single person can survive on the moon under these circumstances. Moreover, even should we find a way to survive, it is too costly for regular people to travel there. Because of these reasons, I presume that the idea of residing on the moon is still unattainable and it was a small baby step, not a leap for humankind.
In conclusion, although it was claimed that we figured out the space, I suggest that there is a long, unknown way to go.
