Undoubtedly, Landing on moon was a gigantic step for mankind and a eminent history in our lives, while some individuals opine that it has no significant role in our daily activities. I firmly believe that the funds used for space exploration are disproportionately large compared to the benefits it provides in our daily lives.
The technology that sent humans to the moon and powered space shuttles has also transformed everyday life on Earth. Many innovations from space research, known as spin-offs, are now used in our daily lives. For example, the smoke detector, commonly found in homes, was originally developed as a safety device for spacecraft. Not only that, but there are also many other commodities, originally designed for space shuttles, that we use in our everyday routine. As an illustration, you can see that computer barcodes are used in practically all retail stores, and nonstick fry pans are found in every kitchen nowadays, which were first made for the spaceship.
On the other hand, critics contend that sectors like healthcare, education, and unemployment require immediate attention and funding from the government, rather than allocating a substantial budget to space exploration. Although the commodities that are manufactured for the space shuttle are useful for our daily activities, they are extravagant and can be used by affluent society only. Moreover, a large proportion of the population is living in impoverished areas and urgently needs to be privileged and rescued.
In conclusion, I would say that moon landing is definitely an important history in our life. Nevertheless, we have many other crucial subjects like poverty, redundancy, and illiteracy to explore and spend money on.
