In these recent years, the number of well-known people being hounded by the press has been increased. It is sometimes believed that renowned celebrities should public their privacy on the media. While I may acknowledge the logic behind this suggestion, I still disagree with it for several reasons.
Proponents of this view may have several arguments. They may well argue that celebrities often serve as role models for society. While it is crucial for celebrities to hold for their actions, it does not justify invading their lives. However, some celebrities actively seek media attention to promote their careers, which can lead to lucrative contrasts and gain more public exposure to increase their fame.
Nevertheless, I still strongly oppose this view for several reasons. Chief among these is that famous people are entitled to the same basic rights as other individual. Privacy is a basic human right; exposing it on media without permission can be considered a criminal act. Another point worth mentioning is that the media should focus on the professional achievements and public actions of celebrities rather than their private lives. This is because constant media scrutiny can cause significant distress and degrade the quality of life for figures. For instance, many famous people report feeling uncomfortable and harassed by paparazzi. Instructive media practices can disrupt important personal events such as dating or special occasions.
In conclusion, it is understandable why some may argue that popular people should not be given right to privacy. However, I cannot support such a view given the aforementioned reasons.
