Nowadays, the world is developing rapidly, and our lives are also changing more quickly than they were a few years ago. Certainly, this rapid change strongly affects both our mental and physical health. Personally, I agree with this statement for several main reasons.
People cannot predict the exact pace of social change, which makes adapting to new life conditions extremely difficult. While some individuals live active, goal-oriented lives and manage to achieve a great number of things every year, others may feel exhausted after just one day of such a schedule. If a person has followed their own slower rhythm for most of their life, they are likely to face a common problem – a lack of time. Some psychologists have reported that in recent years, there has been a worrying increase in people suffering from sleep deprivation and physical fatigue due to working late and desperately trying to meet deadlines.
However, it is also worth mentioning that fast progress brings certain advantages. Thanks to modern technologies and improved communication, people can now save time, connect globally, and access resources that support both physical and mental well-being. For example, online fitness platforms and mindfulness apps have helped many individuals take better care of themselves, even in a busy lifestyle.
Despite these benefits, it cannot be denied that the majority of people struggle to adapt to the constant pressure of keeping up with modern life. From my own experience, I have witnessed many cases where previously joyful acquaintances turned into gloomy ones simply because of demotivation and exhaustion. Under the pressure of rapid change, society is slowly losing its vibrancy, and people are becoming more robotic and less lively than before.
To summarise, I completely agree that the rapid pace of change has significantly affected our lives, and although it offers some advantages, I believe its negative impact on mental and physical health is far greater.
