In recent days, experiences are arguably the most valuable thing in terms of applying for jobs, more than the background of education. It is predicted that in the future, prospect employees will not need any formal qualifications in order to get an occupation. However, I disagree with this prediction because formal qualifications can also prove someone has skills and today’s campuses have programs that offer real life working environment for students.
To begin with, formal qualifications are needed not only to prove that someone has background knowledge, but also to prove that they have the skills. Despite the belief that formal documents, such as campus or course certificates, show only people’s theoretical knowledge, certain employers also accept that as prove of someone’s practical skills. Many unemployed people who choose to apply for a job without using their formal education certificate, are stil needed other formal documents to prove that they have experiences or practical skills.
Furthermore, today’s campuses are not merely teaching theoretical frameworks for their students, but also real life experiences. Many countries have developed curriculums that allow students to not only learn in classrooms settings, but also have real life experiences in applying their knowledge. They are allowed to participate in internship programs, thus makes them capable in improving the soft skills required to be a good employee.
