Nowadays, English is an international language. So, it has become crucial to learn it. However, without local language there is no identity of a culture as well as country. Therefore, it is more important to protect the local words.
In this modern era where businesses are possible in the entire globe, English has a huge role. It has become one of the most important things to achieve success in a field. At many work places it is must for employees to be able to speak English more then their local language. So, learning language is like a blessing for successful careers and in some countries it has become a status symbol.
On the other hand, if a country is progressing in other language by leaving behind their mother tongue then they are going to ruin the identity of own country . Without personal language nobody is going to identify someone. Additionally, there are many cultural aspects that are unable to learn without mother tongue. The future generations would be unaware about ancestors and history of their country. For instance, Punjabi people have their holy book written by their ancestors, however, new generation is not able to read because they have adopted new language. So they will no longer have knowledge about gurmukhi. Most of the countries have completely lost their mother tongues.
