Understanding the differences between right and wrong at an early age can be considered as an add-on to children’s growth. Therefore, punishment can help me them learning the consequences of their activities. I completely agree with this point of view because getting punished helps children to evaluate their behaviors. Only mild punishments should be allowed.
Punishment is also a learning phase for children to understand the consequences of their activities. Take for an example where teenager bully disadvantage student at school. Not getting punished for this nuisance may encourage their bullying nature. Besides, punishment not only helps them to realize their mistakes but also teaches them about good and bad. Moreover children can easily learn the concept of good or bad if they are being taught by suitable scenarios.
However, only mild punishments should be used to discipline children. At a young age, children may be rebellious. Inappropriate punishment can then give a rise to their rebellious nature. For this reason, parents and teachers should be more concerned while punishing them. Instead of spank or scolds, parents can use mild ways such as taking away their pocket money, asking them to do household chores or grounding them. At the same time, children must receive knowledge about why they are getting punished and how they can improve their behaviors, activities.
In conclusion, children should be punished in an appropriate way rather than any sorts of methods that can hurt them physically or mentally.
