Nobody can deny that parental influence has a significant role for children. But in our world, we have many views about how parents must truly help their kids understand the difference between right and wrong things they must or mustn’t do. As it seems to me, I’d rather speak with my child naturally, without shouting, than start yelling and hitting instead.
Firstly, parents must be role models for their children, and they have to explain the ground rules for behavior at school, home, outdoors, and important meetings. So, as a fact, yes, it is very important for children to learn the difference between correct and incorrect things because that can help them with further life, where there will be bullying, peer pressure, and many other childhood problems that they must solve. So, if your child knows about acceptable and unacceptable rules of life, this will greatly affect his further maturation.
Secondly, let’s talk about punishments. As everyone knows, especially in my own country, before the 2000s, many children had punishments every day in their life, and that was normal for both parents and kids; it’s strange, I would say. And not only parents bit them, teachers also spanked students when they started to laugh or gave wrong answers according to the pedagogue’s syllabus. But after many years, all of us got that you just have to speak with your child or student to be understood, nothing more, only that. It is the most viable thing that all parents, guardians, and educators should do.
Overall, as far as I am concerned, really heart-to-heart conversations with a child or student make life much easier for both; it’s very important for the child to be heard, not hit.
