In recent days, adults believe that allowing children the freedom to make independent decisions is indispensable from a young age. I equally agree with this statement because teenagers need to be independent in their choices, such as studying, working, and entertaining themselves, whereas they should not engage in disreputable work or illegal activity.
On the one hand, giving freedom to youngsters seems advantageous; they could enhance their knowledge in areas they are interested in, so they might broaden their horizons. Meanwhile, many children who work as waiters, construction workers, or bakers contribute to society and gain valuable work experience, as it allows them to act independently. Moreover, children could participate in different types of creative activities as long as they want to entertain themselves during their leisure time, so that they can spend it productively instead of leading a sedentary lifestyle.
On the other hand, younger generations might engage in disreputable work, including bribing, shoplifting, vandalism, and cybercrimes, which leads to them becoming defendants in legal cases. As a result, they might end up spending a significant amount of money due to the lack of parental supervision. Concurrently, smuggling has significant disadvantages, resulting in strict legal consequences and substantial financial losses due to penalties. Therefore, parental supervision is essential in preventing teenagers from engaging in unlawful activities.
In conclusion, independent children have both benefits and drawbacks in their choices. Children who obtain a high degree or work would be meritorious in their future life, while adolescents might engage in disreputable activities because of a lack of parental control
