Some people consider that giving a hand to all needy people around the world is not impossible. I completely disagree. I am going to present two advantages: moral duty and international cooperation.
In terms of moral duty, there are two key points. First, the compassion of supporting people all around the world is essential to the sustainable development of it, because of the fact that humanity is the foundation of peace and stability. This is demonstrated by the fact that plenty of charity organizations, such as the Red Cross and UNICEF exist to protect the right to life of vulnerable people and help people who do not afford the finance for their healthcare. Second, when a country shares humanity, it means that country is responsible for fulfilling its international moral obligations. This is illustrated by Vietnam’s strengthening of its poverty reduction strategy and support for vulnerable communities such as ethnic minorities, poor children and people with HIV/AIDS not only in Vietnam but also in Africa following the call of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).
In terms of international cooperation, there are two reasons. First, the provision of assistance for people of all countries in the world is a possible task to promote diplomatic relations between the two countries. One explanation for this is that thanks to international banking, modern means of transport have transformed the way that international assistance could be given, and now assistance could reach even the most remote places on Earth. For instance, providing food to poor people in Africa takes place practically and quickly. Then, aid is necessarily the best way to develop a market economy and prevent epidemics from spreading globally. An example of this is vaccine supplies from the US and France to other countries that have promptly limited the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic.
In conclusion, because of the advantages of moral duty and international cooperation, I completely disagree with the idea that governments should give a hand to all needy people and bring mutual benefits to countries across the globe.
