It is true that nowadays both scientists and tourists can travel to very remote and natural places like the South Pole. Although this has some advantages, I think the disadvantages are more serious.
On the one hand, travelling to these far and wild places has a few benefits. Scientists can do research and learn more about nature. They can study the weather, ice, and animals that live in such extreme conditions. This helps people understand climate change and find ways to protect our planet. Also, some tourists go there to see the beauty of untouched nature, and this can make them care more about protecting the environment.
On the other hand, there are also some big problems with this trend. First of all, travelling to places like the South Pole is very dangerous and costs a lot of money. People can easily get sick or injured because of the freezing weather. In addition, when more tourists visit these clean areas, they can create pollution and disturb wild animals. For example, scientists have found that too many tourist ships in Antarctica are harming penguins and making the place less natural.
In conclusion, even though visiting remote natural areas can help scientists with their research and give tourists new experiences, I believe the disadvantages, like environmental harm and safety risks, are more serious.
