In many educational systens, pupils who lack talent in non-academic subjects such as art and music are persuaded to switch to other fields. Moreover, parents maintain that it is time-consuming for students to purse such pastimes in which they are not passionate. In my opinion, this is definitely the wrong approach.
First of all, extracurricular subjects are extremely advantageous to schoolchildren. Not only do students gain knowledge and skills, they can also develop their passion for artistic work which gives them a wide range of options for future jobs. Besides, pupils are able to make improvements on the efficiency of their progress at school and workplace. A case in point is there are more and more schoolchildren playing musical instruments and taking part in singing competition at school. These leisure activities create chances for pupils’ groundbreaking moments in their lives which leave them up with full of cheerful memories in their minds.
A second viewpoint is schoolchilren who are highly gifted in extracurricular subjects notice themselves struggle to gain knowledge from compulsory ones at school. On the other hand, they outperform other students in artistic fields with impressive outputs. In addition, art and music are considered as leisure pursuit which help them let out stress and become relieved after making an effort at school. A prime example is that many pupils often select sports as a way to let out stress and pressure and so do extracurricular subjects. A part of students decide to go for non-academic subjects as a softer method to loosen up after a hard – working day.
In conclusion, schoolchildren can have enthusiasm in non-academic subjects and pay attention to develop them besides practical ones. Students who have aptitude for extracurricular subjects will make developments in more aspects in lives as well as give themselves more opportunities to be groundbreaking in future jobs.
