Many people think tourism brings economic benefits to a country, while others believe it damages local communities. To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Although some people argue tourism support the economy, others think it is harmful to local communities. In my opinion there are convincing arguments on both sides of the debate, and I believe that although tourism risks to country, it also delivers significant benefits to society.
To begin with tourism plays an important role in the economy of many countries. It brings income to the country and supports businesses such as hotels, restaurants and transport services. Additionaly, it creates employment for local people, especially in visitors areas. For example, people can work as tour guides, hotel staff, taxi drivers. As a result, tourism helps reduce unemployment, improve standart of living in local communities.
On the other hand, tourism can also have negative effects on local areas. A large number of visitors can cause pollution, overcrowding and harm natural places. It should be noted that, local traditions and cultures may change because of foreign influence. In some tourist destinations, prices of food, housing, and servicing become more expensive which it creates difficulties for local people.
In conclusion, tourism has both positive and negative effects, but i believe it is generally more beneficial than harmful. Positive effects outweigh the negative ones. Because it supports economic growth and provide employment opportunities for many people. Moreover, governments can reduce the harmful impacts of tourism by protecting the environment and supporting local culture. Therefore, tourism should be developed in a responsible and sustainable way.
