Social and mass media, for instance, attract people, especially teenagers, to be engaged and interested in them. They more value playing online games or scrolling the internet rather than searching for information about their ancestors or cultures, visiting distant relatives, and recovering relationships with them. As a result, they less know or pay less attention to their cultures and the origins of their nation, which leads to the gradual loss of traditions.
However, technology can also contribute to the development and spread of traditional cultures. People can share their traditional music, data, cultures, stories, and arts through online platforms, which can open new life and views for other people. In this way, different nationalities can exchange their traditions, which may enhance international interaction. Virtual reality can even be used to recreate historical sites, cultural experiences, or even the appearances of great scientists, litterateurs, and royalty, which can give us an opportunity to better understand how they looked.
In conclusion, the cooperation between technology and traditional cultures depends on how technology is used. If applied wisely, it can serve as a bridge between generations and cultures, not a threat.
