While I understand why many believe that this practice can leave a bad impression on viewers, I completely disagree. I believe that the potential benefits of advertising far outweigh the negatives.
On one hand, many people view promotion as a nuisance, as it can spread misinformation and deceit, or simply be annoying. Individuals with ill intentions may attempt to sell counterfeit products from reputable companies at inflated prices, thereby profiting through dishonest means. For instance, YouTube, an online video platform that hosts billions of viewers, enables many to watch live sports daily. Due to the vast amount of content available, false advertisements can go unchecked, leaving many viewers vulnerable to scams. Moreover, the high frequency of these advertisements can trigger frustration, spoiling the overall experience for audiences.
On the other hand, I strongly advocate for sponsorship as one of the best ways for competitions to reach their target audience, especially among those who may know little about that type of entertainment. Esports, for example, has gained popularity among young people in recent years and is predicted to become a massive industry in the future. Its success can largely be attributed to collaborations with well-known energy drink brands like Monster and reputable gear manufacturers like Razer. With the growing popularity of these events, they will have increased funding to develop and enhance their quality, ultimately improving the viewer experience. Sponsors can also benefit from these partnerships by offering diverse products, leading to greater profits.
In conclusion, while sponsorship can have negative influences, I argue that the advantages it brings can outweigh the downsides. Through effective advertising, we can not only enhance the sports experience but also contribute positively to the global economy.
