There is an opinion that higher salaries should be paid to CEOs and executives in comparison to other workers. This essay strongly agrees with the statement as the chief executives and executives are the faces of the companies and companies’ success mostly depends on them.
One of the reasons why CEOs and executives should have larger salaries is because they represent the companies they work in. People tend to associate each action of the company’s CEO or executive with the company’s action itself, forcing CEOs to be the public person and act properly even out of working hours. For example, the CEO of the well-known in Kazakhstan IT company Sergek Group, Yevgeniy Kim, in one of his interviews claims that being a CEO made him to analyse the company’s reputation before speaking even on the streets. This pressure could be understood as extra work done by them apart from working hours.
Other reason that could be mention is the leader position CEOs and executives take within the company. Each decision and reform made inside and outside the business should be regulated and controlled by them which is a great responsibility. For instance, the decisions made by Elon Musk on even small design changes in X (former Twitter) affects the number of users and company sales. Such great responsibility brings a lot of distress that should be somehow repaid.
In conclusion, being a CEO or executive is a stresful position which requires being representative and leader of the company, therefore is worth of higher salary than other workers gain.
