Nowadays many companies have introduced a novel approach called ‘digital detox’ in order to reduce employee burnout. Although this policy could cause problem for business operations, i believe the advantages for workers’ health and productivity could increase significantly.
In addition, digital detox can greatly improve well-being of employees. When people are always connected to the internet and have to go through some emails and any other assignments, they may feel stressed and tired with that. Taking a break from digital devices allows them to relax and spend more time with family and friends outside. As a result workers can return to office feeling freshed and more focus on their assignments, for example the German workers can have their off-day anytime they want to reduce stress and give them satisfaction with the company.
on the other hand, this regulation can lead to difficulties to the company. Everything is linked to digital technology such as emails, finance data, lists of client. If employees are not available online it can cause a slower decision-making and communication among company and clients especially for international company that has to communicate with a different time zones. Moreover, many small business are remoted digitally because they don’t have an office to work for. Thus, they might be struggling to enhance their sales to grow.
In conclusion, even though digital detox can might cause a sorts of problem for companies, it also highly recommend for the workers in order to stay mentally and physically healed from burnouts with a condition the workers’ assignment should be done at the first place.
