Nowadays, many countries have similar international shops and products due to globalization. Some individuals believe that this trend brings significant advantages while others argue that this has negative effect. This essay will discuss both views and give my opinion.
On the one hand, having the same shops and products has some advantages. Firstly, people may have opportunity to buy the goods they need more easily, even when they travel to another country. They also know that the quality of these products is usually positive. In addition, international companies create more job opportunities for local residents. This helps the country’s economy grow.
On the other hand, some people think this development has negative effects. One reason is that small local shops cannot compete with big companies. As a result, many local businesses may close. Another problem is that countries may lose their traditional culture because consumers start buying the same products everywhere instead of local ones.
In my point of view, this is mostly positive development because it gives people more choices and create jobs. However, governments should also help local businesses so they can continue to exist. Although having the same shops and products can cause some problems for local businesses and culture, I believe the advantages are greater than the disadvantages if governments support local companies.
