In today’s contemporary world, spending money on armed forces and military technology has increasingly become a significant investment for the government.
One of the primary reasons why the government invests a considerable amount of money on armed forces and military technology is that they protect national borders significantly. This is due to the fact that when policymakers provide sufficient funding for these sections, they can protect their nation from foreign attacks. Furthermore, creating strong military forces by providing modern equipments authorities can encourage individuals to fight against terrorism and they can play a substantial role in maintaining security. For instance, if governments invest in surveillance technology along border areas, they can protect their country from dangerous foreign attacks. Consequently, by investing money in modern technology for advanced surveillance and border protection, governments can protect their autonomy.
On the other hand, governmental investments should also be directed toward public services such as education and healthcare. This is because education and healthcare directly improve people’s lives. Moreover, educated individuals can contribute significantly to national development by ensuring effective communication and diplomacy with foreign countries. Additionally, after receiving a good education from qualified teachers, individuals can play a substantial role in enhancing the country’s economic circumstances. Besides, by investing sufficient money in the healthcare system, the government can improve the population’s life expectancy. For instance, money should be used for building public hospitals and public schools to develop productive and educated individuals.
From my perspective, governments should maintain a reasonable defense budget but spend more on education and healthcare.
