Sugar can be found in numerus manufactured products that we eat or drink and may lead to detrimental effect on the health of individuals. It is often thought that making sugary products more expensive seems to reduce the consumption of these products. I must admit that this might be a step in the right direction to maintain the wellbeing if individuals, but other measures must be taken to solve this problem.
Foods that contain high concentration of sugar can threaten the overall health of individual people; therefore, crucial steps must be taken rather than just increasing the price of these products. Wine, for example, is not only a very expensive item but it also can not be purchased if the person under 18; however, people still buy it everywhere.
Furthermore, sugar can easily be addicted to everyone children or adults. This is because the sweetness taste of it stimulate specific receptors in the brain of one who consume sugar to release endorphin and serotonin which make a state of euopheria to the individual. As a result, the brain link the consumption of sugary products with being happy, so it encourage the person to eat more and curve these sweety products. Hence, increasing the price of products contain sugar is not a correct remedy for this phenomenon.
In conclusion, flavoured products with sugar impose a significant risk to the public health of citizens. While rising the cost of these products appears to be a beneficial option. It seems to me that another steps should be made, such as increasing the awareness about the harmful effect of sugar and encouraging people to do more physical activity
