Recently, the internet saved huge amounts of data and learning websites. Some people start self-learning; they depend on mastering online through the websites and phone applications. I am of the belief that online self-education has numerous negative aspects, more than its benefits.
In the beginning, there are different causes that induce self-education. Individuals search for convenience, cut costs, and fast-track because people usually assess their needs depending on time and economics. Consequently, they have been pursuing learning online as soon as educational platforms became accessible for everybody. For instance, amateurs have a wise financial choice; they can get scholarships and free courses. If the condition is applicable for them, they can enter these courses without leaving their place. What can be said is that the internet is the main motive for self-taught.
Nevertheless, self-learners have pessimistic phases, in spite of the advantages. When learners study without a teacher, and they depend on their understanding only, they may lose the deep meaning of some topics. Furthermore, the material on the internet is not totally correct; there is much inaccurate data and information. For example, scholars buy books online, and they cannot find out if that is the original version; besides, they learn from these books. As a result, our society suffers from some learners who have wrong ideas because they negatively affect the commonality.
In conclusion, if people depend on online education platforms without instructors, they will face considerable problems that they cannot overcome. People should learn with a mentor in order to completely understand. Accordingly, it can be said that self-learning has negative impacts because of wrong knowledge propagated on the websites.
