Many people claim that all zoos should cease their activities, while others disagree and believe that having zoos leads to positive implications. In my opinion, I disagree with the notion that we must close all zoos. I think they provide a valuable opportunity for children to become familiar with a variety of animals, and they also significantly aid researchers and educators. I will discuss both perspectives in the upcoming paragraphs.
Moreover, I believe that zoos have a positive impact. Zoos offer children the chance to learn more about animals’ lives and characteristics. Furthermore, they help children understand how to behave around various species and what these animals eat. For instance, children can observe animals like lions or tigers, which are dangerous, and understand the importance of maintaining a safe distance when encountering them in the wild or in other environments.
On the other hand, there are negative aspects to zoos that should be acknowledged. Some zoos may not provide adequate care for the animals, leading to a decline in their well-being. This is a concerning issue for the ecosystem. Animals in captivity can forget their natural behaviors and instincts. For example, a lion, which is a strong species that should thrive in the jungle, instead lives in a cage waiting for its food.
In conclusion, I believe that with professional management, zoos have the potential to improve our knowledge and awareness about the animal kingdom. They educate us about the existence of wildlife and influence our behavior when we encounter animals, as well as how we can assist them in urgent situations
