Band 7+: Many people play sport when they are young, but then stop when they become adults. Why do so many adults stop doing physical exercise? What can be done to solve this problem?

Introduction:

The majority of people engage in sports during their childhood and teenage years, but this often stops once they reach adulthood. In my opinion, this occurs due to two main underlying reasons. However, this issue can be addressed with the help of governments and companies taking proactive steps. Body 1: Admittedly, the reason many people give up sports as adults is a complex issue that stems from two major factors. Firstly, one of the main reasons people stop playing sports is time. As a child grows from a teenager to an adult, many new challenges and responsibilities emerge in their life. For example, they may face challenges such as higher education, work obligations to earn money, or other adult responsibilities. As a result, people become busier, and time seems to run out, leading them to prioritize other activities over sports. Secondly, there is a loss of interest in sports. This happens because, after school, there is no external pressure to participate in sports. During school years, students are required to engage in physical education (PE) classes, which means they regularly participate in sports. However, after leaving school, students often become “free birds,” no longer compelled to play sports. Body 2:

Now that we have identified the issues, how can we fix these problems? Firstly, governments should take action to encourage sports participation. How can they do this? I believe they can take several steps. Given that governments have significant financial resources and responsibilities, they could create and subsidize gyms or sports centers. Additionally, they may organize sports events, such as marathons or sports competitions, with prizes and awards to encourage participation. Furthermore, companies should also play a role. Employers should offer employees incentives, such as paying for gym memberships or providing paid leave to participate in sports activities. These actions could help address the problem and encourage adults to engage in physical activity. Conclusion:

In conclusion, firstly, people need to change their mindset and attitude towards physical activity. They should think, “If I do not play sports, it will harm my health.” If people start thinking this way, they will naturally demand more opportunities for sports competitions and other activities from the government.
