In many countries, foreign films are more popular than domestically produced ones. This is because of the quality and engaging plot of foreign films. Governments should provide financial support to attract individuals to watch locally made films.
One prominent reason why foreign films are more supported is their quality. It is obvious that local films do not have the appropriate quality with digital effects or large casts due to low budgets. Therefore, individuals choose to watch foreign films which have superior quality. Secondly, in developed countries, there is a significant number of filmmakers who are able to generate films with captivating plots, while in developing countries almost all films have similar plots. Therefore, due to the lack of exciting plots, local audiences give preference to international films.
In my opinion, the government should support local film industries in order to improve the quality of local films. Governments could provide financial support to promote cultural identity. Moreover, this action could create job opportunities and contribute to the economy of the country. For example, with an appropriate budget, the film industry could develop.
In conclusion, the majority of people choose to watch international films instead of locally produced ones because they believe that foreign films are much more attractive. Governments should respond by giving financial support to local film industries.
