Positive And Negative

Band 7+: Many young children today leave school with a negative attitude towards learning. Why is this happening? What can be done to encourage young people to have a positive attitude towards learning?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

The individual attitudes of people in school are one of the most important aspects that students have to face. Some people believe that many adolescents leave school with a negative outlook on education, while others do not share this belief. In my view, I completely agree with the statement that young students receive negative attitudes towards learning from school for various reasons.

On one hand, the negative attitudes from school include arguments and defensiveness from students towards educators and studies, which are prevalent nowadays. The main reasons for this are the teachers and classmates. If teachers give students negative feedback and create a negative atmosphere in the classroom, students will be resistant to learning and develop negative feelings towards their educators. Additionally, classmates play a significant role in influencing students’ learning. Negative behaviors such as bullying and teasing can make other students feel bad and not want to learn. For example, if the classroom atmosphere is negative due to the actions of educators and classmates, students will be reluctant to study and will have a negative attitude towards school.

On the other hand, a positive classroom atmosphere can lead students to have a favorable attitude towards education. Educators can positively engage students by providing feedback that encourages them when they practice and participate in educational activities, allowing children to enjoy the learning process and motivating them to excel. Furthermore, classmates can help make the learning environment enjoyable and joyful. For instance, when teachers create a positive atmosphere, offer encouraging feedback, and urge students to participate confidently, and classmates contribute to a positive mood, young students will develop a positive attitude towards school.

In conclusion, the primary factor that determines whether students develop a positive or negative attitude towards education is the classroom atmosphere created by educators and peers in school.
