In today’s modern society, young adults are attracted to pursuing the trend of remaining unmarried. Several reasons ascribed to this tendency will be put forward in this essay, and I believe the benefits of such a trend are eclipsed by far more disadvantages.
There are two cautions about the popularity of the decision to choose to stay single. First of all, the main rationale behind this is that many young individuals have to address the economic pressure when they are in a marriage or bring up children. Raising a child inevitably involves tuition fees and requires a prodigious amount of effort and attention, and that is why many people are hesitant to enter a relationship. Second, young people who do not marry can focus on their career and pursue their passions, which these career advancements take precedence over romantic relationships. Given the fiercely competitive job market nowadays, career advancement takes precedence over romantic relationships. Living alone and getting higher positions means overtime shifts and greater responsibilities, which deprive people of time for romantic commitment.
From the reasons above, many positive consequences of this tendency are apparent. The first one is the benefit that delaying parenthood allows both parties to know what to look for in their spouse. Despite the positives, the situation brings some detrimental effects for the nation when not synonymous with the birth rate, and this is a testament to why postponing reproduction is apparently disadvantageous. Nevertheless, since couples might already have proper socio-economic backgrounds, children could receive better resources and education development without worrying about loans and debts.
