Although, in recent decades, there are opportunities to allocate money to elevate quality of life, the majority of money is used on space research. While there’s some truth to this view, I largely disagree, mainly because it’s a long process and it doesn’t guarantee success.
It is understandable why people hold this view. The major reason in defence of this statement is that it may help to save people from fatality in the future. As we know, the sun is going to destroy the earth in the future and the best way to survive is to find another planet where people can live. For instance, people already found a planet which has a convenient environment for people, but it’s very far from and to reach this planet, the fastest rocket which we got needs to fly about 5 million years to reach it. Moreover, it also gives us a chance for discovering more information about planets such as uJpiter or Uranus and it can be really beneficial in the future. That’s due to the fact that we can find planets that have beneficial resources for people and when we are able to reach those planets, we gain resource-based advantage from them. For example, we already discovered that Uranus possesses a lot of resources such as gas. Thus, it’s not a bad idea, but there are some other ways to use finance that are beneficial.
That said, I would say that channeling money to make life on earth better is a wise option. That is due to the fact that the fatal problems that are approaching us in the near future ought to be solved as soon as possible. That’s due to the fact that if we don’t start paying attention early, we may not be able to address them later. For example, the percentage of potable water is decreasing and the price of the water in 2030 is expected to rise significantly. Consequently, it’s unwise to use money on space research while people have such a big problem which is unsolved. Moreover, spending money to establish more and more environmentally friendly sources is more reliable and necessary. That’s due to the fact that we already have a lot of ideas to build them, but don’t have the capital to turn them into reality. This in turn, means that governments ought to help those who have ideas to create eco-friendly buildings rather than spending money on outer space inquiry as the results are not guaranteed. This clearly demonstrates why channeling money on making life better is a wise choice.
In conclusion, it’s not a bad idea to use money to assist astronomical discoveries as it may find a solution to survive from the fatal in the far future and helps to discover new features of planets that we can use to our own advantage. However, from my perspective, spending money on enhancing living standards carries more weight as it offers reliable benefits in the future and to solve the problem which is closer than we think.
