Band 7+: More and more people are using computers and electric devices to access information; therefore, there is no need for printed books, magazines, and newspapers. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

With the rapidly advancing technology, a growing number of people are using electronic devices to access information and news. Consequently, some argue that books, magazines, and newspapers are no longer necessary. While I partially agree with this statement, I believe there are differences between the two mediums that need to be considered. In this essay, I will explore both sides of this argument and offer my opinion.

Nowadays, electronic devices like laptops and phones are very common, making it more convenient for people to access information. With just one device, people can carry a wide variety of books and information with them without being limited by time or location. Additionally, they can read books anywhere and anytime, even while waiting in line.

However, there are some drawbacks to using electronic devices for reading. For example, some people still prefer physical books because they enjoy the texture and experience of holding a book. Elderly people may not be familiar with digital devices and prefer printed books. Additionally, extended periods of screen time can cause eye strain and fatigue. Moreover, the best quality devices can be expensive, making them unaffordable for people with lower incomes.

In summary, while I agree that digital books offer many benefits such as access to diverse information and taking up less space, some people still prefer physical books due to the experience they provide and the sentimental value they hold. Therefore, both mediums have their own advantages and disadvantages, and it is important to consider the preferences and needs of different individuals when choosing between them.
