Many individuals nowadays use to spend a lot of money on their complexion to maintain a youthful appearance. It is obvious that there are a number of factors involved in why people try to maintain a young look. This essay will discuss that this trend is negative.
The predominant motive could be connected with the extensive variety of different professional skin care products, which are widely promoted and advertised. It is to emphasise that many companies are producing new beauty products, which is advertised to be a source of youth and beauty. It leads to advertisements that convey the idea that you need to look young to look beautiful! As a result, people, especially ladies, are ready to spend money to look younger. To illustrate, ads of Korean complexities attract a lot of attention due to their demonstration of the extensive selection of products. Therefore, people purchase a product because there is a desire to stay young and beautiful.
The second reason is that adult people want to follow beauty standards, which are becoming higher every day. In other words, social media is spreading the idea that there is one clear standard of beauty: fresh face, healthy hair, etc., which have to be followed by people in order to look attractive. Consequently, people’s self-esteem is falling and they are willing to spend money to look younger.
Personally, I share the position that this trend has a negative impact. I believe that a person is beautiful the way he/she was born. Moreover, aging is a normal natural process and there is no need to shame people for it. Overreliance on beauty products might lead people to the feeling that old age is ugly, however it is not.
In conclusion, individuals are trying to maintain their youth due to rising beauty standards and advertisements that promote the dependence of beauty on cosmetics and complexions, which lead to a negative progression.
