Band 5+: More people get news online than via TV or newspapers. Is this positive or negative development?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Nowadays, the most news is obtained from social media or internet sources, instead of newspapers or television programmes. It is often said that reading news from internet is more easter, and savas time because of fast access to information, so I strongly agree with this idea.

Firstly, obtaining information from social media rather than newspapers, saves our valuable time. For example, In the past people had to go to the shop to buy magazines which was taking a lot of time and energy; however, as soon as technology came out and the phones have been invented people started wasting less time on shopping newspapers. Another reason is that information on the internet is more than that in any newspapers, especially today we have a bunch of sources where we can be aware of news from any corner of the planet, which we were not able to do in the past when news obtainted form television programs, meaning that now we have access to lake of information weather is politics or anything else. People in the past when they were buying newspapers had to spend much money on it; today we, however, do not have that problem due to the phones and internet, we are no longer have to spend money to buy it. So, it is free for everyone in our planet.

Meanwhile, the accuracy of information on social media is not always high, which lead us to misinformation. Decades ago when individuals had to read news via newspaper which was written by people there was not problem in terms of accuracy. However today we have AI and other innovations, meaning that you can not fully trust to data on the internet.

In constitution, after creating the internet and the rapid changes in technology brought to people a lot of positive point such as fast acces to news, which we did not have in the past, more than that people do not have to spend much money on newspapers because of their gadgets. However the quality of information on internet is not always accurate, which can end up with bad result.
