There is an ongoing debate about the drawbacks of overusing digital technologies, such as television or computers, among the young generation. While some people may have differing opinions, I completely agree with this statement because spending a lot of time towards screen-based tools leads to issues with health (neither physical nor mental) and plays an important role in intellectual disability.
One of the main reasons why I agree is that overusing advanced modern technologies by children and adolescents may contribute to health problems, including poor posture, low vision quality, as well as mental health issues, such as cognitive fatigue, anxiety, and exhaustion. For example, prolonged sitting in front of a computer can cause posture illness, and spending a lot of time on the internet leads to information overload, which continues to pose serious risks to concentration and other abilities. This is important because cognitive fatigue contributes to overall well-being, affecting on child’s emotional stability and creating problems with an anger control.
Furthermore, wasting hours on computer instead of studying or doing important things inhibits development of children’s average intelligence. For instance, many teenagers prefer playing online games over their real life, leading to distingishing of mind. Even though they will limit their screen time, it will still brainwash them, changing their worldview and beliefs. As a result, new generation become victims of propaganda due to lack of critical thinking.
In conclusion, I strongly agree that modern convenience has more negative consequences on young people. This is because it harms them both physically and mentally, as well as reduces rate of intelligence.
