In today’s world, more and more people make-up their mind to work for themselves, instead of being employed by someone. People tend to choose to be self-employed because this allows them to save balance between work and life. However, the disadvantage of this can be financial instability.
Many people prefer being self-employed as this help them to control their work-life balance. Some people have little time to spend outside work, and busy with their work schedule. This may result in the fact that people spend most of their time at work, rather than having good-quality time with their close people. Therefore, self-employment can be major catalyst for freedom of workers in their life. For example, when individuals work for themselves they can decide how to create their own schedule, and how much time to free up for everything they find important outside workplace.
Nevertheless, the drawbacks of self-employment can be also significant for individuals. Working for themselves might lead to financial instability as they do not receive fixed salaries from someone. Most companies offer their employees stable salaries, and take full responsibility for providing payment on a regular basis. Therefore, when people start business, they might face instability of money and have to only rely on themselves. What is more, people who decide to work for themselves, have to take responsibility for every single detail such as paying for workplace and provie other workers with fixed payment, which can lead to burnout.
In conclusion, while the reason for choosing to be self-employed is understandable, disadvantage can be significant for people. Self-employment can result in freedom as they spend little time outside work. However, working for themselves may result in financial problems.
