Currently, films made abroad is being prefered by a number of individuals rather than local ones. Personally, I opine it is the passion to explore new environment and new way of broadcasting that creates the desire cinema lovers to view foreign products more. Although fundings of local authority for local film industries would assist and cause less acute shortages of money, it may not solve the main reason.
Mostly all viewers desire is to experience new unhabited feelings and emotions. Foreign movie directors attract viewers by using high creativity, exciting plots, and advanced visual effects. For example, big Hollywood movies have huge budgets, which allow them to create impressive special effects and film in unique locations. On the other hand, local films often have smaller budgets and focus on familiar everyday topics. As a result, many people prefer watching foreign movies because they offer a more exciting experience.
Regarding government support, financial aid can help local filmmakers, but it cannot guarantee success. State funding allows local studios to buy better equipment and pay for production costs. However, money cannot buy good ideas or talent. If local movies do not have interesting stories, audiences will still choose foreign films regardless of how much money was spent. Therefore, instead of just giving grants, governments should invest in film schools and training programs for young filmmakers.
In conclusion, viewers choose foreign films mainly because of their creative stories and high production quality. While government funding can help local film industries financially, it will not make local movies popular unless local filmmakers focus on improving their creativity and storytelling.
