Shopping malls are growing more and more on the streets to meet the demands of people. Some people contend that these days, young people spend an excessive amount of time in shopping malls. In my opinion, I wholeheartedly concur with it, as well as the detrimental impacts that excessive purchasing has on families and society.
To begin, excessive shopping time will cause rifts in the community. Young individuals tend to neglect the more sacred emotions of family, friends, and relatives in favor of their own interests. In addition to striking up a conversation with other people, offspring opt to go shopping alone as a means of satisfying themselves. As a result, they will spend very little time with their family and relatives and remain isolated from society. A paradigm illustration of this is the fact that my sister, who spends little time with our family since she is such a compulsive shopper, usually visits fashion stores as soon as she gets home from work to get herself some lovely outfits. Consequently, she missed a great deal of socially engaging events in the neighborhood, such as charitable giving and sports.
The purpose of retail outlets is to draw customers, which contributes to cultural materialism. Several teenagers are willing to spend their money on the never-ending fashion race since they are more materialistic than spiritual. In addition to causing them great financial harm, this would waste precious time that they should be spending with their families. In one case, a few youths, unaware of the harm they do, are always attempting to purchase costly apparel to show off their affluence as well as keep up with current trends. It is a financial crisis in households, and if children continue jumping on the bandwagon, they will neglect their learning.
In conclusion, although the mall has certain benefits for people, some young people find that it has the opposite effect on them because they spend too much time there, which leads to detrimental effects on their families and society.
