The line graph illustrates the amount of visitors at a Caribbean island from 2010 to 2017. The total number of visitors are seperated into two groups, those staying on the island and those staying on cruise ships.
Overall, the total number of visitors grew over the recorded 7 years. Whereas visitors had preferred to stay on the island than on the cruise ship in the past, there was a reverse in this trend in 2015.
The total number of visitors had steadily risen from 1 million in 2010 to 3.5 million in 2017. Out of all the visitors, around 0.25 million stayed on cruise ships in 2010. This number increased to 0.5 million in in 2011, then dropping back down to 2010 level in 2012. Since then, it has steadily risen to 2 million in 2017, surpassing the number of visitors staying on the island in 2015.
In contrast, the number of visitors staying on the island was about 0.75 million in 2010 and 2011. This number continued to grow to 1.5 million in 2013 before levelling off until 2015 when it dropped to about 1.25 million in 2016, and then rising again in 2016 to 1.5 million in 2017.
