As young individuals start studying at school, they gain more knowledge and moral values than at home. I completely agree with this say because students do learn subject contents better with teachers, and they could also gain social experiences with other classmates at school.
Children are taught by qualified teachers at school whose strategy is helpful to students’ learning. These teachers are often trained to use specific strategies when teaching, which could largely influence young individuals’ intellectual. For example, kindergarten students who are at the age to learn the alphabets and sounds, schools usually provide activities for them to engage and remember the knowledge. However, at home, their parents do not have the necessary resources, where they lack effectiveness in influencing their children’s intelligence.
Moreover, teachers are better at delivering social skills to young children as many schools aim to teach young people moral values such as communications and sharing. For example, when a student has an argument with their classmate, teachers often need to demonstrate good listening skills to understand the conflict and help them to resolve it. During this sort of consultation, their conversation would be able to teach children to express their wants and accept the outcome. On the contrary, parents at home often respond to what their children need immediately and even inappropriately since they were not trained to approach these issues.
In conclusion, I totally agree that teachers have a greater influence on children’s cognitive development than parents as they have more professional and can inspire students’ intelligence and social development.
