Band 6+: Online streaming platforms and TV channels will eventually replace traditional cinemas. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Live streaming sites and TV channels will finally take over traditional cinemas. Even though platforms like twitch, kick, and youtube are getting massive popularity in this century, I mostly disagree that streaming will replace movie theaters.

On the one hand, streaming services and TV channels provide really relevant and interesting content according to its views. Millions of people worldwide watch livestreamers and sometimes clip their good moments to post it online for dozens of individuals to watch and enjoy. As a result, this type of platforms blewing up and taking over the entertainment industry. Studies show that, because of the powerfulness of social media, every teenager at least once in their life watched a stream or popular TV show. This remarkable convenience makes it more relevant and will encourage a lot of teenagers to shift to it in the future.

However, it is more exciting and realistic to watch different types of videos in cinemas. Most of the time, movie theatres publish only new and unwatched films or movies. As a result, you have never seen any spoilers to ruin your time of watching. In addition, your opinion about this film will certainly be higher. A clear example of this is the new Spiderman movie coming out in 2026 that everyone expects to be great and it’s truly satisfying to watch this film way before your friends have so you will be the first. This function to watch the latest releases will remain the barrier between traditional cinemas and streaming services.

Furthermore, movie theatres have social and communal benefits. Sharing emotional experience with the audience is a really unique feature. Watching with an audience amplifies the emotional impact of a film, as shared laughter, gasps, and reactions create a collective experience. While watching streams or TV channels could never give you the same experience. Because of this special benefit I think going to the cinemas can feel more memorable.

In conclusion, even though streaming platforms and TV channels are relevant and interesting, it cannot replace the excitement and feelings you get in movie theatres. For these reasons, Traditional cinemas will remain a vital part of a consumer life in the future.
